Greg Carter

Greg grew up in Tazewell, Virginia.  He earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Theatre Arts from Virginia Tech.  A first-generation college student, Greg was introduced to Virginia Tech through the TRIO programs and he is a proud Upward Bound/Talent Search alumnus.

After a successful 16 year career in television news, Greg transitioned into public relations and marketing.  He comes to Blacksburg after serving more than five years as the Deputy Director of Communications for a state government agency in Richmond.  

Outside of work, you can find Greg traveling, spending time with his wife and kids and attending sporting events (his oldest daughter plays college basketball). He also enjoys live music, theatre and golf.
