William McKenzie

William grew up in Martinsville, Virginia. He studied Visual Communication Design at Virginia Tech as a first-generation college student. He brings over 17+ years of experience as a graphic designer with skills in creating digital art, web development and design, photography, videography, and video production. 

In previous years, he served as a graphic designer on several communication and marketing teams within the university, including the Office of Summer and Winter Sessions, and still works closely with the office in his current role.

He has developed a great understanding of visual communication along with brand development, and currently uses his skill and knowledge to help strengthen the marketing efforts of units within Enrollment Management. Those areas include the Registrar's office, Financial Aid, Summer and Winter Sessions, College Access Collaborative, and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

He is an artist, musician, and former barber/hair stylist that truly understands the value of uplifting people. Outside of work, you can find William spending time with his wife and kids, watching ’90s sitcoms and playing Mario Kart. He enjoys hiking, playing basketball, boxing, and experiencing new things with his family.
